John Stanford International School Leader Update
John Stanford International School Leader Update
Dear John Stanford International School families and staff,
I am pleased to announce Sam Abrams as interim principal of John Stanford International Elementary for the 2024-25 school year.
Principal Abrams’ journey in education began in 2001 as a math teacher. Since then, he has embraced a wide range of roles including curriculum coordinator, counselor, dean of students, school startup leader, and principal. He recently worked at a private pre-K-8th grade school in Washington state. He believes all students have unlimited potential, and the main role of educators is to provide opportunities for every student to engage, grow, and learn.
Principal Abrams founded the Qatar Academy for Science and Technology, leading the school to international recognition through mastery and project-based learning. This school was recognized in 2020 by the International Schools Awards foundation.
Principal Abrams holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Eastern Washington University and a BA in math education from Brigham Young University.
SPS will begin the search for a permanent principal for John Stanford International Elementary later this school year. At that time, SPS will share next steps with the community. Read more about the SPS school leader hiring process on our website. Until then, I am confident that Principal Abrams’s commitment to partnership and equity will support and guide the John Stanford International Elementary community.
Please join me in welcoming Principal Abrams to the John Stanford International community!
Sincerely,
Dr. Brent Jones
Superintendent
