Remember to Turn In Move-a-Thon Pledges
Please remember to turn in your pledges (or pay online) this week. We will of course continue to accept pledges as long as they keep coming in, but the class prizes will be determined by the funds that come in this week.

saturday oct. 25 JSIS Monster Mash
Monster Mash Book Fair
The annual Monster Mash book fair is here! The profit from this book fair provides much needed books in English, Spanish and Japanese. Scholastic is the only book seller who allows the profit to be taken in cash. 25% of every purchase goes directly to the library budget so Ms. Kathleen can purchase books in different languages.
The book fair will be open for sales in the library:
|Thurs, Oct 23rd||8:30-9:25* a.m. & 3:30-4:30* p.m.|
|Fri, Oct 24th||8:30-9:25* a.m. & 3:30-4:30* p.m.|
|Sat, Oct 25th||5:00-8:00 p.m. during the Monster Mash|
*Students must be accompanied by an adult. morning after the first bell, students whose parents could not accompany them will be invited to the library to make book purchases.

Two more meetings are coming up - Oct. 27 at Yesler Community Center, and Oct. 28 at Northgate Community Center.
Spring Trip to Mexico
Preparations are underway for the annual trip to visit our sister school, Juan de la Barrera in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The trip is planned for Spring Break HERE for scholarship application.and is open to all JSIS students and their families. (Please make sure you have the right dates, as a previous announcement did not have the updated information.) Click
Trip registration will open on ! Maestra Priscilla will be in room 404 to accept registration fee from each morning until registration is full.

Volunteers for Vision/Hearing Screening
Did you know that Nurse Sheila screens every child at JSIS for possible vision or hearing problems? Volunteer to help for two hours. Sign-up genius has more details including screening dates and homeroom numbers if you want to help with your child's class.
