"HOP on POP-corn" Bar - the Staff Appreciation Team kicked things off early by providing treats for the Staff Mtg last Wednesday
WHO-FEASTS - featuring yummy themed luncheons provided daily by YOU, our fabulous families!

--Monday - 3rd Grade Families THANK YOU
--Tuesday - 2nd Grade Families Sign Up Here
--Wednesday - Kindergarten Families Sign Up Here
--Thursday - 1st Grade Families Sign Up Here
--Friday - 4th/5th Grade Families Sign Up Here

Staff Totally Awesome Appreciation Raffle (STAAR) – We'll pull 4 lucky staff winners each day!
Appreciation Notes – Fill one out for your Teachers/IAs and other staff to say Thank You. They came home in folders last Thursday, with more available at the front desk.  Any day is a great day!

Classes will encourage their Teachers/IA's in their own creative ways throughout the week.

Looking forward to celebrating our amazing JSIS Staff!  Questions:

News Flash!

The latest issue of the student-run newsletter Wally! is coming out today!  This month includes Wally Chopped and Funny Short Story contest winners, and a new assistent editor-in-chief.  Ms. Margie’s morning class worked together with their kindergarten buddies in Ms. Margretta’s morning class to write most of the articles in the issue.

There is a new arts and crafts contest and the deadline is
April 6th!  The deadine for writing articles for the upcoming issue is also April 6th.

Fiesta Latina

Thanks to all who have signed up for lead and support roles in the planning of Fiesta Latina! There are still plenty of opportunities to help out.

The next (optional) planning  meeting is
on Wednesday, April 22nd.

As a reminder, Fiesta Latina will be Friday, May 8th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at JSIS.

Fiesta Latina is a fun celebration of Latino culture and a fundraiser for our sister school, Juan de la Barrera! As Fiesta Latina was such a success last year and to keep the planning as simple as possible, we plan to have it be very similar to last year.

Fiesta Latina Planning Lead: Ingrid Wertz

Bike To School
(Future Dates: 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/22, 5/29, 6/12)

Please join us for JSIS Walk & Bike to School Days throughout the year. Any day is good for walking and biking, but the following dates will be celebrated with treats for all walkers, bikers, and bus riders.

If you come by car, ask your driver to park a couple blocks away so you can walk.

Help us reduce traffic close to school, and you will benefit from the healthy walk or bike ride!

Kick off Bike to school MONTH with national Bike to School Day, Wednesday, May 6th
