    Dear Families,

Thank you to all of you who were able to attend our MLK assembly.  It was fantastic to see so many wonderful presentations by the Choir, Student Leadership Team, 5th grade students, and many others.  A giant thank you to Ms. Nani and Hiromi sensei for leading the organization for such a memorable assembly.   Students have begun the dance residency, and are learning rhythms, dances, and drumming.  Thank you to PTA for sponsoring such a fantastic opportunity each year!

A few parents have commented that some students are crossing 45th at unmarked crosswalks.  I’m not sure if these are JSIS students or not, but if your child walks alone, please remind them to only cross 45th where there are lights.

There has been a personnel change in our office, and Maria Perez is no longer working for the district.  We are actively working on finding a replacement, and until then, we have great substitutes.  If you need to let the office know about your child’s attendance, please email the attendance email at: . Thank you very much for your patience and flexibility as we transition.

I know I mentioned the awesome new rainy day drop off signs in my last newsletter, but we have had the opportunity to use them twice already, and I think they are lovely!  I hope you find them helpful in knowing whether or not it’s rainy day drop off and then knowing where to take your child.  Thank you, again, to Hem for writing the grant which secured the funds, and then for creating the signs.
