Fundraising

Annual Fund

When JSIS first started, numerous grants were given to us to help start up our program. Ten years later, our program is thriving despite the fact that the start-up grants are no longer available to us. This is possible due to the tremendous
support from our families through the annual fund. The money raised is managed by the school and is used for maintaining instructional assistants in the immersion classrooms.  Considering how important our instructional assistants are
in providing the support to students, we are so grateful for the continued support by all of JSIS families.

Visit our Annual Fund Page for more information about the 2012 Campaign.

Book Fairs

Coordinators -  Tracey Crouch & Erika Bigelow

John Stanford hosts two book fairs each year.  Our first is during our annual Monster Mash in October.  At this fair,
English & Japanese books are offered.  Our second fair is during La Fiesta Latina, usually held in the late winter,
which offers English & Spanish books.  The selection of books at both fairs is wonderful and you will find something
for everyone (kids & adults). This is a great gift buying opportunity as money raised from the book sales goes directly
to support the John Stanford library.  Our librarian Ms. Kathleen replaces damaged books and purchases new books with
the proceeds. It is also a great way to support the library or your child's classroom by purchasing books at the sale from teacher's wishlists & donating them right then to the school.

Move-A-Thon

The MOVE-A-THON is both a celebration of motion and an old-fashioned fundraiser for JSIS. Kids get pledges from
friends, family, and neighbors based on either a flat amount, or the distance they anticipate travelling. Then they bring
their bikes, or scooters, or rollerskates, or just their feet down to the Burke-Gilman Trail and move!

Check out the Move-A-Thon page for more information.
