    Dear Families,

Thank you to all of you who attended our ice skating social sponsored by PTA.  It was an awesome event, and I managed to hold up all of the rink walls!  Also, thank you to all of the families who selected a mitten and donated to the Giving Tree!  Thanks to Kelly Brewer, Anne Ewing, Kate Milad and Deilyn Sande for donating and giving very generously of their time! Kelly and her team, we were able to help approximately 70 students, collecting and distributing over 200 gifts between John Stanford and Beacon Hill.  It is wonderful to see the joy and thankfulness on parent’s faces as they come and pick up clothing and gifts that will surely brighten their children’s holidays.

    BELL TIME CHANGES…

We were just notified that we need to change our morning bell times.  We need to start everything 5 minutes later.  Starting Tuesday, January 2, the new times will be:

7:30 – Breakfast is available for students, the cafeteria is open

7:40 – Supervision on the K/1 and Lower playground begins, students may be dropped off

7:55 – 1st bell rings, students should line up for their teachers

8:00 – 2nd bell rings, if students arrive after this bell they are tardy and need to check in at the office to receive a slip before going to class.

Unfortunately, this means that students will be losing 25 minutes of instructional time each week, so it is even more important in our very tight schedule that students are on time and ready to learn.

If you have not yet picked up your logo wear, it is still in the PTA room across from the office. Please come get it at your convenience.

If you happen to be cleaning out your child’s closet over the break and find some gently worn items, please consider donating them to JSIS.  We keep a collection of clothing for students who have accidents of any sort and need a change of clothing.  Thank you, in advance, for keeping us in mind.

I hope all of you have a wonderful break, and I look forward to seeing all of your children on Tuesday, January 2nd!

    Thoughtfully,

    Sarah
